Q. How many days will my sale run?
A. Typically, a sale runs anywhere from 1-4 days: 9am-3pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are the most popular days to conduct an estate sale. Many time’s we will add a Sunday or even carry a sale over to the following weekend if there is a large amount of inventory to liquidate.
Q. How long does it take to prepare for a sale once a date is set?
A. Depending on the breadth of a sale it can take our set-up team anywhere between 1-3 days to properly stage and price your belongings for a robust sale. Clients and brokers appreciate that we can be in and out of your home within one week and still conduct a very profitable sale.
Q. How do you advertise for my sale?
A. SMES only uses the most dynamic websites to advertise sales. These sites automatically publish your sale on our social media venues in efforts to drive as much traffic to your sale as possible. Eye catching signs are strategically placed through-out your neighborhood directing traffic to your location from all the major intersections. SMES has all marketing prospects covered!
Q. What should I do to prepare for my sale?
A. We recommend that clients remove and store away any items they do not want to sell including any valuables and personal belongings. All valuables that are not for sale should be locked away or taken off-site by the owner to err on the side of safety and caution. SMES provides a pre-sale reference check list to help answer any questions you may have.
Q. What happens to any of my items that do not sell?
A. After the sale has ended our team will discuss what can be taken back for a second chance option of listing on the ebay marketplace through ShopMelee.com. Clean-out and donation options are also available for items that do not sell, however, there may be an additional fee for these services.
